When he’s not working, Mr. Lownsbery keeps himself busy with a wide range of interests and hobbies. For nearly 25 years, he has been an avid runner, participating in numerous 5K and 5-mile races. In 2005, with the encouragement and training support of his twin brother, he achieved a major milestone — completing a half marathon at the annual Runner’s World event in Allentown. In recent years, he has shifted his fitness routine toward cross-training, incorporating biking, Insanity workouts, ClimbMill sessions, and weight training at Spooky Nook Fitness Center.
Outside of fitness, Mr. Lownsbery is an enthusiastic tropical fish hobbyist. He has designed and maintained a variety of aquatic environments featuring African Cichlids, Oscars, and Angelfish — and more recently has taken an interest in the delicate art and science of keeping Discus, exploring the nuances of water chemistry and tank ecology. His favorite weekend stops? Home Depot and That Fish Place.
A devoted Law & Order, MASH*, and Seinfeld fan, he admits to being a bit of a “serial watcher.” He also enjoys a good game of backgammon and has a strong creative side, particularly in web design, digital photography, and video production. A longtime Apple enthusiast, he has built and managed numerous websites over the years using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Moodle, Joomla, WordPress, and Weebly.
At home, Mr. Lownsbery often channels his creativity into woodworking and home improvement projects. His handiwork includes an outdoor deck, custom fire pit furniture, a corner cabinet, and even a backyard clubhouse — each a testament to his craftsmanship and love of learning by doing.
